Dr. Xingchen Liu

I am working at Meta on LLM pretraining and evaluation, with a focus on multimodal understanding. Earlier at Meta, I was on the GenAI 3D team led by Dr. Natalia Neverova and Prof. Andrea Vedaldi, specializing in Generative AI, Computer Vision, and 3D reconstruction/generation technologies. In between, I have also worked with multiple startups on digital human video generation and on image generation for the fashion industry.

Previously, as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Toronto under Professor Yu Zou's supervision, I successfully developed a failure detection system for 3D printing.

I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Toronto under Professor Kamran Behdinan's supervision, where I developed analytical-numerical algorithms for fast diffusion calculations for various applications, significantly reducing computation time from hours to seconds.
